According to a federal mandate given by President Joe Biden, all federal employees, contractors and more must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
In compliance with the mandate and after careful consideration, the University of Oklahoma has decided to mandate all faculty, teachers and staff to prove their vaccination. The university says all employees must be fully vaccinated by December 8th, 2021.
Only Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccinations will be accepted by the university. Teachers are still adjusting to the new rules, but more importantly are wondering what is going to happen next.
“We did receive an email from, I’m thinking the president or someone administrative wise, but we really haven’t been given further instructions yet on how we’re too, what’s supposed to happen next, so next steps have not come to us,” said Dr. Marilyn Byrd, an OU professor.
