Pfizer calling for emergency approval for children aged 5 to 11

Kids ages five to 11 may be able to get the Pfizer vaccine if the US government approves it. If approved, kids could be getting the shot as soon as a few weeks.

“We are ready. We have the supply,” said White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeff Zientes. “We’re working with states to set up convenient locations for parents and kids to get vaccinated.”

Children are currently making up a greater share of COVID cases because they are not eligible for the vaccine. Vaccine approval could change that.  The FDA Advisory Committee will discuss approval on October 26th
