Cushing’s high school football bus crashed on their way home from a game in Oklahoma City last night. The bus driver lost control and flipped the bus on its side after veering off the side of the road. The bus was carrying twenty-two students and two coaches. One student is currently in the hospital with a fractured lower spine, but the rest walked out with minor injuries. A Cushing high school football player who witnessed the accident from a different bus said, “The roads were wet, just bad conditions. And he kind of just slipped off the road a little bit, over corrected, and flipped. A bunch of the people in the second bus jumped out and broke the glass and got them out of there. I was worried. I was hoping no one was dead, because it looked bad.” Cushing Public Schools says the hospitalized student is expected to make a full recovery.
