The Oklahoma Senate passed a bill to protect the Second Amendment rights of medical marijuana cardholders. Senate bill 959 would allow cardholders to have a concealed carry permit. In Oklahoma, the current law prohibits citizens that have illegal drug use violations on their record to apply for a handgun license. If passed, the bill clarifies it would still be illegal to carry or use a gun while under the influence of marijuana. The senate bill is now heading to the State House of Representatives for a vote.
