Sooner Football’s Grant Calcaterra released a video statement last night via Twitter and Instagram announcing that he will be hanging up his pads for the crimson and cream.
Calcaterra is a junior at the University of Oklahoma and a stellar tight end who made a huge impact on the Sooner football program the past few years.
However, a little over a month ago he suffered a concussion in practice. After sitting out game after game and visiting with different specialists Calcaterra has officially decided to hang his cleats up due to multiple concussions through out his career.
Calcaterra’s career is one that will leave a legacy with the Sooners as he starts his next journey in life.
In Grant’s video posted to his multiple social media accounts he explains his reasoning behind retiring and thanks everyone in his life who has backed him in the process of making such a hard decision.
