Water was draining down the South Oval earlier today…
A water line broke just before 2 p.m. this afternoon in front of Lin Hall, the new physics building on campus.
Water came up from a man hole and flooded the west side of the South Oval, making it interesting for students to get to and from class. Students were going around the water and jumping across it.
Water began flowing across Lindsey and made it difficult for students to go anywhere on across campus.
“We have isolation valves and shut down sections down the line, so we were able to isolate just this one section and keep everything else up,” says Justin Henry, Corix Utilities Contractor.
Maintenance crews are working diligently to restore the break, but says it will not affect any surrounding buildings on campus. There is no timeline for the water to be restored.
