The Oklahoma City Zoo might be showcasing a new animal sometime soon. A litter of mountain lions have been rescued and brought to Oklahoma from the wilderness of South Dakota. The Zoo’s curator of hoofstock, Tyler Boyd states “The orphan cubs were found by the department of parks and per their policy they are no longer releasable back into the wild, so they need to look for accredited institutions to re-home the animals that are found. The Oklahoma City zoo is lucky enough, we responded quickly enough because we had space available and we were able to provide these guys with a home.” The zoo plans on keeping two of the playful cubs, so you will be able to see them out on the zoo grounds in the near future.
