Students looking for a job this summer in Norman can now apply for lifeguard training at the Murray Case Sells Swim Complex.
The pre-course costs $25 and the lifeguard training costs $175. The course is a 22-hour process with half online and half in the classroom.
“So,d when you are certified to be a lifeguard you are certified through the Red Cross,” says lifeguard William Bauer. “You are certified with first-aid, CPR and AED to learn all the training to do CPR rescue breath and stuff like that. And then in the lifeguard portion of it, that’s when you learn how to actively scan the water, your entries and your saves.”
To apply, go to ou.edu/far/aquatics or visit the swim complex on Asp Avenue.
