Norman residents spent the night in freezing temperatures for a chance to win free Chick-Fil-A for a year. Starting Wednesday morning, the new Chick-Fil-A, located on 12th NE Ave and Alameda St., celebrated their grand opening with their “First 100” campout.
Since 2003, Chick-Fil-A holds a First 100 event for every grand opening in the country as a chance for the new franchise team to meet future customers.
The rules?
The first 100 participants who sign up and attend the entire event become eligible for a free chicken sandwich every week for a year. Throughout the day, there is free food, giveaways and games sponsored by the franchise.
Participants, like Darren, Radtke, said it has been a great way to get to know people in the community, as well as the new franchise owners.
“All day we have been playing games and getting to know complete strangers. It’s basically a big slumber party.”
