Head Football Coach Lincoln Riley received a pay raise that now has him earning $6 million this season. Riley signed an extension, dodging potential NFL aspirations for the time being. This raise now has Riley tied for the eighth highest salary among college football coaches.
New Defensive Coordinator Alex Grinch, meanwhile, is going to make $1.4 million, which is the highest ever for an OU Assistant Coach.
To put these numbers in perspective, Oklahoma State Head Coach Mike Gundy makes about $5 million a year. OU President James Gallogly makes just $500,000, and President Trump makes just $400,000.
Coach Riley can also earn up to $750,000 in post-season bonuses; and if Riley is still on the sidelines when April 2021 rolls around, he’ll receive an additional million dollar bonus.
