Senate Bill 937 would rename Lake Hudson, which is currently named after a man who had ties to the Oklahoma Ku Klux Klan.
Washington Hudson was an Oklahoma legislator and board member of the Grand River Dam Authority, which manages the lake. Hudson was also founder of the Tulsa Benevolent Association in the 1920s, the group that established the KKK in the city.
The bill would change the name of Lake Hudson to Lake Markham.
