When people think of October they usually think Halloween, but the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History uses the month to appreciate teachers.
National Teacher Appreciation month is in may but the museum celebrates during October. Oklahoma teachers, who usually pay eight dollars to get in, pay no admission fee.
“Kind of a way for us to give back to teachers in the community. It’s for pre-k through 12 teachers who live in the area. It offers them a chance to visit the museum, free of charge, to see some of the programming and activities we have available for them as well” said Catherine Carter, Sam Noble Museum Lead Educator.
Until the 31st, teachers can preview Sam Noble’s various educational programs and learning opportunities for their students for free. Students also get in free the first Monday of every month.
