OU Parking Oversells Commuter Passes

OU parking released their official numbers for the fall semester trying to explain why parking on campus is as crowded as ever.

Whether it’s housing or commuter lots, students are constantly searching for open parking spots while there are many staff spots available.

OU parking released their parking sales numbers for this semester after complaints by students piled on. There were 6098 commuter passes sold this semester but only 3022 spaces available, leaving 3076 commuters without parking spots. This is a shocking number for students including Tyler Arrlington, an OU parking commuter.

“I’m pretty upset that they decreased the amount of parking spaces and increased the amount that each parking pass is. And also they are overselling passes which is pretty ridiculous.”

OU parking said they oversell commuter parking spaces because they believe not every student is trying to park on campus at the same time.
