OU’s ROTC Program Receives a Big Gift

At the OU versus Army game on Saturday it was announced that a family donated $20 million to the OU ROTC program, in celebration of its centennial this year. The funds will go towards the Army, Navy and Air Force division of the university’s ROTC program. The $20 million will account for both building renovations and a scholarship endowment for OU ROTC members.
“Personally I think about kids that are freshman in high school right now.  Maybe don’t know that they’re going to be in route to OU Army ROTC program, but this gift is going to affect their lives in four years as they arrive at the college level. So this gift is going to reach forwards and backwards.”
The renovations are set to include the OU Armory as well as the Air Force ROTC program that is located on the fourth floor of OU’s Cate center.
