Former OU President David Boren gives the thumbs up to a candidate for governor.
Not surprisingly, Boren, a well- known democrat himself, endorsed candidate Drew Edmondson during a press conference Sept. 6 at the state capitol.
During the event, Boren said he believes this election for governor is one of the most important elections in the history of Oklahoma. Boren served as both the governor and later a U.S. senator representing the state before taking the office of OU president.
Edmondson, who won the Democratic party’s nomination for governor on June 28, formerly served as attorney general of Oklahoma. Edmondson faces Republican Kevin Stitt and Libertarian Chris Powell in the governor’s race. Election day is Tuesday November 6th.
