On August 17th, scooter rental company Bird placed several scooters around OU’s campus and Norman.
The scooters have quickly became popular amongst many people, and have become an efficient way of travel for students.
But are they here to stay? Norman city officials are looking in to the city ordinances and permits that apply to bird.
“I could see it going either way… I mean I enjoy them… They are convenient… They save gas and they seem to be pretty well regulated within the actual company but I could definitely see them making some people mad.”
Nightly’s Abby Green spoke with the city of Norman’s development coordinator, Terry Floyd, to hear the city’s plan for the scooters. Floyd told Green things are looking positive for Bird. As we get more information we will let you know, right here on OU Nightly.
