With the OU-Texas weekend just over a month away, OU’s Undergraduate Student Congress unanimously passed a bill making the Friday before the game a school holiday. The Congress had its first meeting of the school year on Tuesday to discuss the bill, as well as other issues.
According to Congress Secretary, Richard Holt, the bill is designed to give students some time off before the second half of the fall semester.
“For the most part, unless we get a pretty significant response, we know that most of the student body is wanting and probably expecting an OU-Texas holiday. So, we wanna make sure that we can do that and be representatives of that interest.”
The bill will now go to the Graduate Student Congress and President Gallogly for approval.
