Happy Friday Sooners! OU is finally back in Norman and ready to take on the Cyclones from Iowa State this weekend. I have the forecast to get you game day ready.
A cold front is expected to move into the state today. This will bring cooler temps, a change in wind direction, and a chance of rain. Severe weather is expected in Northwest Oklahoma Friday evening. This cluster of storms will move eastward throughout the night, gradually weakening as it moves closer to the Norman area. Severe weather is not expected in Norman.
The cold front will reach Norman overnight, bringing a line of showers and thunderstorms. There is uncertainty regarding the exact timing of the rain in the area. Most models have the system coming in the very early hours of Saturday, clearing out in time for kickoff. Some models want to keep showers around for the start of the game. As of right now, expect clouds and a possibility of showers for any early morning tailgate plans. Kickoff should be dry and clouds will depart as the day progresses. Expect temperatures in the lower 70s around kickoff, so you may want to bring a light jacket early on. The sun will come out, making it a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s with winds out of the north at 5-10mph. Humidity will also be noticeably lower than this past week. All in all, after the morning showers, it will be a beautiful gameday!
Have a great time at the game Sooners! Boomer Sooner!
