Happy Friday Sooners! With the first game of the 2017 season just on the horizon, the weather team at OU Nightly has you covered!
There is going to be a small system that will move out of the Rockies this afternoon, and it is expected to drop south into Oklahoma later tonight into tomorrow morning. This will bring the chance of showers and thunderstorms to the area beginning late tonight, Norman included.
The good news is that the best chance of rain looks to be during the morning hours, with most, if not all the rain wrapping up by the noon hour. If you plan on tailgating during the morning hours, prepare to see some rain showers, as we expect there to be some in the area between sunrise and noon. It does not look like a washout by any means, but it can only take one little rain shower to cause issues!
All in all, the weather is looking good for kickoff, with decreasing clouds and temperatures in the upper 70s, due to cloud cover. If Norman sees fewer clouds, temperatures will push into the 80s. The nice weather is expected to persist throughout the game, with temperatures in the lower 70s by the time the game is ending.
Have fun and stay safe Sooner Nation!
