The Oklahoma Sooner Defense made a strong appearance against Iowa State this past weekend. The Cyclones were able to score three field goals, and one touchdown. The touchdown was scored late in the fourth quarter with backups in the game.

Defensive End Charles Tapper and Cornerback Jordan Thomas were strong players on Owen Field last Saturday. Tapper accounted for two tackles as did Thomas.

The Oklahoma offense has seen quite a spark after the Texas loss as the Sooners are outscoring opponents 232-50 during the four game winning streak.

A big part of that has been the jumpstart of the offensive line running game. The offense is averaging nearly 300 yards in that four game span.

The offense knows continuing the run game success will be a vital key against Baylor this weekend.

QB Baker Mayfield as well as RB Samaje Perine, RB Joe Mixon and WR Sterling Shepard have been apart of key plays during the four game winning streak. It will be key to continue those trends for the rest of November play.

RB Samaje Perine says the offense feels that it can run against anyone on the field. The sophomore running back says running the ball is going to be emphasized this weekend against Baylor.

QB Baker Mayfield says running the ball is going to be the first establishing point of the game. The Oklahoma starting quarterback says the offense is able to strike and score pretty quickly.

According to Mayfield, “holding the ball and managing it at our own pace” is going to be another key.

The Sooners travel to the Bears this Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ESPN College Game day will join in the Big 12 face-off.
