Senior center Ty Darlington is in the running for the William V. Campbell trophy this season. The center is one of 12 finalists for the award.
The honor is awarded to a student athlete who is considered to be the stand-out best football “scholar-athlete” in the country.
Darlington joins players from around the nation for the award from Navy, Ohio State, UCLA, Mississippi State, Montana, Nevada, Baylor, Massachusetts, Kansas State, Mount Union and Ferris State.
Darlington will be awarded $18,000 scholarship for making the short-list of potential winners and $25,000 if he is awarded the trophy.
