Sooner defense could be a dark horse

The Oklahoma defense is riding high at midseason, right where we need them to be.

After shutting out Kansas State two weeks ago and containing a top five Texas Tech offense last week, The Sooners quietly have one of the best defenses not only in the Big 12 but in the nation.

That success can be largely created to both the talent and the depth for Mike Stoops’ squad. The unit’s depth will be tested in the coming weeks with Cornerback Zach Sanchez out on the injured list.

The Sooners travel to Lawrence, Kansas to meet up with the Jayhawks. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

Bob Stoops is 10-0 when playing the Jayhawks during his time in Norman.

Sophomore Safety Steven Parker spoke at the press conference Monday after a Texas Tech defeat this past weekend.

Parker said when the team leader isn’t in the secondary, the team is just going to have to come together.

Parker said the team needs to come out and play.
