The Sooners suffered their first loss against unranked Texas this past weekend. The performance was disappointing to say the least, especially on defense with poor tackling.

Starting off in the first quarter, on Texas’ second drive as Jerrod Hard throws a shovel pass to Marcus Johnson, breaks four tackles for 24 yards. The Horns make the first score, 7-0 in the first quarter.

In the second quarter the Sooners are down 2 touchdowns, Mayfield scrambles right and finds Flowers in the corner of the end, one for the 2 yard score.

When the Sooners are down one score, Texas responds with an explosive run, and there continues to be more shabby tackling by the Sooner defense.

Denota Foreman runs for 81 yards as Texas would score, again, leaving the score 24-17.

The Sooners won the last matchup against Texas in 2015, 31-26. The overall record is now 61-44-5 for the series, starting in 1900.
