Tyler Jones, Reporter | OU Nightly

Sooner fans rejoice as construction on the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium gains momentum. The $130 million project started this summer, and the expansion won’t just benefit the fans.
Senior Associate Dean for Economic Development, Dr. Robert Dauffenbach, believes the construction alone will generate upwards of one thousand jobs.
Additionally, the finished stadium will draw tourists, which means more time and money spent in Norman. Construction on the south end zone will begin after the football game of the 2015 season.
The current phase of the OU stadium expansion is a $130 million project that started this summer. When completed, the project will have had an impact on more than just the Sooner fan-base.
