The Florida Gators (60-7) and Michigan Wolverines (60-8) squared off in the final game of their best-of-3 Women’s College World Series championship last night at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Florida jumped all over Michigan early, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding one run in the second inning. The Gators then relied on the arm of Lauren Haeger, the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, to carry them, which she did.
The Gators came away with a 4-1 victory to capture back-to-back National Championships.
