Former U.N Ambassador slams Clinton over recent email scandal

Former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton spent his time speaking at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in Oklahoma City today blasting former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The former ambassador targeted Clinton repeatedly throughout his speech, calling her untrustworthy.

Bolton also criticized Clinton for her handling of the recent email scandal, where she used multiple private emails outside of the government secured server.

“Lo and behold, the State Department this afternoon is releasing about 300 of Hillary’s Benghazi related emails,” Bolton said. “What a coincidence on a three day weekend, after four years they’ve finally gotten around to it.”

The content of the emails being released are extremely selective though, with lawyers pouring over them to decide what they should give up, according to Bolton.

Contradictions can already be seen in the emails released, says Bolton, which is what he says would be emblematic of a Clinton presidency.

“She said that she never used classified information on her personal email server,” Bolton said. “Already just in these documents, which is simply the tip of the iceberg of what she did as Secretary of State, we find information that while classified retroactively, was extraordinarily sensitive.”

This information includes the names of individuals arrested by the Libyan government just days after the September 11, 2012 attack on the U.S consulate.

“Whether that information was classified at that precise moment, or just classified now because it’s about to be released, don’t you think people should have the wit to understand the names of the people who are being tagged for that murderous attack on our consulate is an extraordinarily sensitive subject that you should send only over a classified email system,” Bolton asked the audience.

This disregard for sensitivity will only show up again and again, Bolton said.

The former ambassador pointed out repeated examples of Clinton being informed of dangerous security issues in Tripoli and Benghazi back in 2011 and 2012, with serious concerns from U.S officials in the area.

“You’ll recall in her very limited appearances to date that she has said ‘I didn’t get involved in that security stuff’, I have people who do that” Bolton said. “When I heard that I was stunned.”

Bolton has worked for six different secretaries of state from varying backgrounds, and every one of them cared for the Americans who worked for the State Department, according to Bolton.

Bolton warns it’s likely to only get worse from here, with the release of more documents on the way.
